YouTube Kids App launched in the U.S.

YouTube, the Google owned company, is rolling out a new app for kids in the U.S.

As per media reports, the new children’s app will funnel the content, to show only the most suitable content to the children. Parents will be glad about the new service for it comes with parental controls. As in, the app will have a built-in timer, which would automatically restrict the time of each viewing session. It can also keep viewing habits of older kids in check, given that it will come with a parent-only lock that will be out of their reach. And also, there’s a sound toggle, which you can either mute or unmute.

And the biggest plus being that it would also include content from a number of other services such as National Geographic Channel, DreamWorks, Jim Henson TV and an assortment of other well-known children’s channels.

Besides sifting through suitable content for kids, the app will also offer curated videos which will help kids narrow down the videos of their choice. There would also be dedicated channels along with playlist for learning programs, kid’s TV programs, exploration and even music. So now on parents in the U.S. won’t have an issue if the kids watch YouTube for an extended period of time.

You can find this free app on Google Play. It’s predicted to be the next big advertising opportunity for businesses. As of now, Google and Facebook (FB) do not permit children below 13 years to use its services. This new app will give Google a broader audience base.
