Google Helpouts, one of the Google’s services connecting customers with online experts, is shutting down on April 20, 2015.
According to Google, this 1 and a half year old service failed to deliver the expected results. So, Google finally announced the shutdown of Google Helpouts. Google Helpouts apps on iTunes and Google Play had disappeared during the wee hours of Friday 13, 2015.
Google launched its Google Helpouts service on November 5, 2013. The idea was to bring users and experts together to discuss the issues on video chat and get the solution out. Experts are allowed to offer advice for free or for real money. This service covered a huge range of topics for discussion.
But Google itself holds the answers of limitless questions on almost all topics. And one of its popular channel, Youtube is a home of billions of tutorials hiding the answers of users’ questions. Youtube may not connect users with a live person, but it covers maximum solutions of users’ queries. A little more search can take users to the exact answer they are looking for. Then why one would like to pay if most of is available for free on other Google’s assets. That’s might be the key reason why Google Helpouts didn’t reach the place where Google wants it to be.
So, finally we will say ‘Bye Bye’ to Google Helpouts on coming April. You have a couple of months to download your Google helpouts history from Google takeout. This download option will remain there until November 1, 2015.
