Designing the iOS wasn’t an easy process for Apple. In fact, there were multiple issues in the development and rollout stage and it appears Apple’s problems haven’t stopped there either. The bugs found in the iOS 8 operating system has led Apple to reconsider employing a public Beta for its OS in the future.
Apple will be offering a public Beta program for both the iOS 8.3 and the iOS 9. As per the sources, beta versions of these operating systems will be released in March and developers will be able to tie-up the loose ends with these operating systems.
The decision seems to have been made in the wake of the Mac OS X’s public beta program, which made its debut last year and gave an opportunity to developers to access Yosemite operating system ahead of its release. Given the success of the program, Apple is planning to repeat the same strategy for its iOS 8 and iOS 9 update.
The biggest plus of launching the beta versions is that Apple will be getting user feedback. This will help gain valuable insights on the habits and needs of the final customer, and in turn, users will have a better software that offers stability to its users.
As per some sources, Apple had to face the heat for the bugs in its most recent OS release, which made the company rethink of its strategy and take a leaf out of Microsoft’s strategy.
It seems the tech giant wishes to avoid problems and issues that its previous operating system suffered from. While iOS 8 is not that bad, but as opposed to Windows 7 or 8, Apple still needs to work with its OS in terms of data consumption, connectivity, battery life and other issues which come in the way of performance of any operating system.
