CarVi- Smart Tech For Older Cars

Thanks to the legendary rivalry between Apple and Samsung, new smartphones, tablets, and wearables are hitting the markets, every other day. However, none of these developments can hold a candle to CarVi . Why? Because it’s a smart tech to drive older cars safely. Made from smart dashboard camera and your own smartphone, the smart tech is designed for safer driving.

How does it work?

Well, the device uses vision based safety system to collect data from single lens camera installed on the car and that ‘talks’ to your smartphone. The captured videos on the camera are analyzed real time by CarVi. If it senses any trouble it sends out audible and visual warnings.

It also monitors safe lane changes, while keeping an eye on your position in the lane and the location of the car ahead. It also warns you, if you come too close to the car in front of you. More than anything else, the device also learns your driving patterns and helps you adjust. For instance, it hints at the amount of gas to be released while adjusting to the flow of traffic. Plus, it also helps you improve your driving skills.

One unit of CarVi is available for $279. But once the unit gets expired you need to shell out $299. If you have a bought a new car, then probably you have a similar or better system installed in your car. But if you are owning an old car, then this app can prove to be really useful.

The app is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

The Make:

CarVi is a chunky black disc, measuring 100 mm across and 35 mm high. Fit it in your windscreen behind and below your rear view mirror with the help of an adhesive bracket. It includes a 720p camera, a microphone, a three-axis accelerometer, a speaker and a Wi-Fi unit that allows you to wirelessly connect to your smartphone.
