Google’s ‘Pony Express’ To Help Users Pay Bills From Gmail

If Google’s ‘Pony Express’ becomes a reality, it will be easier for people to pay their bills from their Gmails. This will relieve them from the pain of rushing to the telecom company or its website to make bill payments. The new service is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Gmail users need to sign up using their name, phone number and social security number for using this service, which has been codenamed as “Pony Express.” They also might need to enter their credit card or account number information to get started.

How will it work? You will receive all your bills in one special folder within your Gmail account. The users will be able to track the billing dates and make payments. It’s also been reported that users can even split bills with other Gmail users, a blessing indeed for those who live with roommates.

Making an online payment is nothing new; however, one needs to visit several websites to make separate bill payments. However, Pony will offer centralised service.

The service will start off in the U.S. first and then gradually rolled out to other countries.

As per the reports Google will be associated with third-party vendors for bill dispatch. This could the insurance companies, telecom companies and utilities.
