Microsoft will be killing the Internet Explorer web browser shortly and a new browser, codenamed Project Spartan will be launched for the upcoming Windows 10 operating system.
According to Microsoft, the new browser will be far cleaner and faster and will take on the likes of Google Chrome and Mozilla’s Firefox.
The IE, over the years, has come under fire for its slowness and at the same time is also prone to bugs.
Microsoft’s marketing chief Chris Capossela, speaking at the Microsoft Convergence, disclosed that they are currently working on a new name and brand:
“We’re now researching what the new brand, or the new name, for our browser should be in Windows 10. We’ll continue to have Internet Explorer, but we’ll also have a new browser called Project Spartan, which is codenamed Project Spartan. We have to name the thing.”
Microsoft while sharing details surrounding the new “Spartan” browser” informed that that new bowser will be able to support Chrome extensions developed for Google’s browser and will be available on smartphones and tablets. It will be available on Windows Phone, and Android and iOS devices as well.
